Physicians employ all available remedies to fight the sinister disease of the 20th century and apparently of the 21th century. Furthermore, physicians are in continuos search of new drugs. To curb the cells of the organism which get out of control, multiply infinitely and kill their proprietor, the cells are exposed to hard gamma rays, get poisoned with knock-out doses of toxic substances, the researchers are trying to deprive the cells of nutrition and provoke them to suicide. However, there is one more opportunity - it has turned out that the light is pernicious to the cancerous growth cells under certain conditions. Having joined the effort, physicians and physicists are improving a new approach to the cancer treatment - fluorescence diagnostics (FD) together with photodynamic therapy (PDT).

Every year dozens of new plants are registered by researchers in the areas where these plants were not found earlier. A lot of the plants get from abroad. International scientific conference of the CIS countries was devoted to evaluation of flora alterations degree. The conference was organized by the joint effort of the Tula State Teacher's Training University named after L. N. Tolstoi, Chair of Higher Plants, Faculty of Biology, Lomonosov Moscow State University and Botanical Gardens of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The conference took place last week in the town of Tula and was funded by A.V. Korzhakov, deputy of the State Duma of RF and Botanical Gardens of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
