The method is based on measuring the activity of enzymes that split proteins and complex carbohydrates. Breef content: It is difficult to reconstitute the case history of a creature which died hundreds of millions years ago, since the scientists have at their disposal only the creature's bones affected by time. Nevertheless, the traces of some diseases remain even on the bones. When examining the skull fragment of a prehistoric amphibian, the scientists have found a malignant tumour on the skull - this is the case of the most ancient tumour known to palaeontologists. Breef content: A small bird has several ways of protecting its nest from ruining: to hide the nest carefully, to attack the predator collectively or to settle down near the birds which are capable of protecting themselves. Small birds most often seek other birds' protection in the cities and towns where there is no place to hide themselves, and where the crows are having the upper hand.
